Okay, I was drawing a pic for Defilerwyrm and I didn't like it, so I completely wanted to redesign a new picture. Thing is, I didn't know what to do. Then I remembered that I wanted to do another pic for Wolfenashes because I had thought she didn't like a different pic I did of her, and I've always wanted to try the werewolf version or her char as well. THEN I was like wow, I don't have any werewolf pics of Michael, so yeah! All three in here.
I wanted to experiment with combining markers for the clothes and colored pencils for the fur. I don't know if I should have, but it was a nice test I felt like I lost some of the lineart quality, but I did my best to salvage it >>; BUT anyway before I get all negative on it I have to continue describing XD
Mm, the height thing... In the character descs, Defilerwyrm lists his character as 9'3", Wolfenashes' char is 9', and my character? He's lucky if he reaches 6'5" on his hind legs, and I thought that was tall enough XD; So don't think of him as short! He'd be hitting his head/ears on the tops of door frames all the time! XD
As for the story behind the picture, Malachai (left) is leading an adventure, or at least believes he is. He didn't exactly ask anyone if he could take charge. He just heard something, and quickly looked around, listening intently, and is hushing Ashes (center). Ashes is pretty offended, but it's not like Mal has ever been known for treating women respectfully XD And poor Michael, confused and slightly freaked is being ignored, and having second thoughts about coming with them in the first place. He feels that he might get lost underfoot or something because the shockingly huge werewolves were more than he expected when he went looking for others like him.
Oh yeah and I wanted to say, it is really, really hard to try and distinguish a werewolf on it's hind legs from an anthro, for me, because my art is all about pushing the anthros more towards the animal side, and I didn't want the werewolfs all hulky-evil. So wow. This was hard. They specifically want "werewolves, not anthros." I really hope they look okay to the people this is for, and I think Michael is the only one who truly suffered in how he's designed I need to think up a better form for him - he only exists in an odd picture here and there and largely my writing, so I never thought of tiny little physical features. Bleh. *flops over*
This is great Rien! ^_^ And I really like Ashes' face, I think it came out really well and I like how you can see one fang. And my doesn't Michael seem short when in reality he isn't...

Ookay, I can't really read all the texty stuff (my eyes are sore from 3 months of unviewed deviations)... but I think the pic is great, especially with the pencils/markers combo. Wonderful.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
In this article you will find many thumbnails of the sun in different forms, all photography featured here by the club feature-me. Please show your support for these artists and their work and the article so that more people can see their work.
